With the release of Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack in 2002, a fifth timeline was created encompassing the films which did not fit within the range of the other four. Originally TriStar’s Godzilla had no place within the universe of the Japanese produced films. That changed with the release of GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, in which the attack on New York is mentioned in the opening sequence of the film. In addition while Godzilla 2000, Godzilla X Megaguirus, and Godzilla X MechaGodzilla follow separate story lines from each other and the rest of the Heisei series, GMK: Giant Monster All-Out Attack is so far removed from the other three (the Godzilla costume is of a completely different design), that it completely stands on its own, and forces one to look at the previous films in the series as a continuation following Godzilla vs. Destroyah.
1956-Godzilla, King of the Monsters
Mutated by French nuclear testing, a giant creature arrives on the shores of Manhattan and destroying buildings and eventually nesting in the Madison Square Garden. This Godzilla is completely different than any other Godzilla simply because it is a iguana that was irradiated by nuclear testing and it was not from a dinosaur like that of the Japanese Godzilla. Its origins and its weapons are completely different than that of the Japanese Godzilla. They would eventually chase this Godzilla through the city where eventually he would make it to the Brooklyn Bridge and get tangled in the wires where he would eventually be destroyed by the military and its missiles. Within the process of doing this it did late in fact a little over 200 eggs which were eventually destroyed however one did survive. It is found and destroyed by the cleaning crew. Some say that this Godzilla did in fact escape and eventually would go on to be in the animated series of Godzilla the animated series were he in fact does have its fire breath and he does point still running.
Concerned over the creature that attacked New York, and the Japanese people were not convinced that Godzilla was totally destroyed by the oxygen destroyer in 1954. When an American so goes missing off the Japanese waters they are convinced that Godzilla has returned. They have confirmed their worst fears and meanwhile in Japan the emergence of Godzilla has awakened three “sacred protector beasts” and they are Baragon, Mothra, and King Ghidorah. Eventually the Japanese Self-Defense Force does kill Godzilla.
