Takao Okawara was born on December 20, 1949 in Tokyo Japan. He is a Japanese film director, writer and producer. Probably his most famous entries in the Heisei Series of Godzilla films Takao Okawara joined the Toho motion picture company in 1973, but were not initially get his 1st shot in the director’s chair until 1980.

This might happen when he would eventually join Akira Kurosawa and Ishiro Honda on the film Kagemusha which came out in 1980. It would be 4 years later that he would work as assistant director for the very 1st Godzilla film all the Heisei Series. The film is called The Return of Godzilla which came out in 1984 Takao Okawara debuted as a primary director 7 years later on the film they call Reiko, The Psyche Resurrected that came out in 1991. Which is also the film that he wrote the script for.

His most notable credit is perhaps crafting the most profitable Godzilla film and that would be Godzilla versus Mothra which came out in 1992. Did mention the fact that his work on this 1st film in the Millennium series Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999) would be his last for the series.
